Virtus Nutrition ingredients are nutritional products that increase animal performance and decrease the cost of milk production.

Virtus Nutrition is committed to the dairy feed industry through the manufacturing and introduction of new products specifically for the Dairy Producer. Our goal is to become the leading developer and marketer of value-added feed ingredients that will decrease the cost of milk production. To accomplish this, we have assembled a team of high-caliber professionals representing all the areas critical to success: nutrition, manufacturing, quality assurance, technical sales, and marketing.

We have increased our research efforts in fatty acid technology to support the development and testing of our new products. Virtus Nutrition manages the Product line. We invite you to learn more about our products and how they help you.

In the future the average herd size will be larger and the average milk production per cow will be significantly greater. The number of high-producing cows is expected to increase more than 20 percent, as the economic efficiency of increasing milk production per cow continues to put upward pressure on milk yield.

We're committed to decreasing the per unit cost of milk production by marketing feed additives that cost-effectively optimize total digestive tract nutrient use in dairy cows.

StrataG Dry Period is a calcium salt of linoleic (Omega-6) fatty acids. It provides the essential fatty acids that support normal recovery from freshening and return to faster heats, while also providing extra energy needed to have a sparing effect on liver metabolism of fat from the cow. This can reduce the NEFA levels in the cow (Overton). Various research at the University of Florida suggests linoleic acid can help cycle the cow sooner and prepare her for breeding.

StrataG Lactation is a patented calcium salt of long chain fatty acids and Omega-3 fatty acids from fish oil. Research has shown that feeding to achieve an optimum energy balance during peak lactation is vital to healthy reproductive performance. These rumen-protected fats provide 2.25 times the energy as comparable amounts of protein or carbohydrates and are an ideal means of providing extra energy to the high-producing dairy cow.

Omega-3 fatty acids can help maintain normal reproductive performance by balancing naturally occurring prostaglandin levels in bred cows. Prostaglandins are derived from fatty acids and they are vital in preparing cows for breeding. Additionally, balanced levels of prostaglandins help ensure that the embryo is maintained once a cow is bred.
